Mountain top Perspective
The vastness is full not empty
As some flatlander would have thought
Against the backdrop of this beauty
Your existence is barely a dot.
It's plumb full of silence
A Silence that roars in your head
I've been there and I heard it
And I know what the old timers said.
It's clear as some passing memory
Of the coldness and the blanket of snow
It's as close as the chill that has numbed me
But helped me to discover and grow
The mountains demand you remember your lessons
They are stern when they give you your grade
They require lifelong commitment
And character improvement is how you are paid
The reward lies in the lands beauty
And the silence locked up until Spring
I sit and ponder it's mystery
And wonder what Spring winds will bring.
With Spring will come snow melt
As the mountains unleash the force
My life, my hope, and my future
These mountains, the Rockies, my source
My source of all inspiration
I worship in their stillness at last
In this, God's greatest cathedral
At the top of some mountain pass.

Checked the Iditarod web site,
leaders are in Iditarod, 3 more
on trail out of Ophir. Mackey and
Gebhardt still duking it out. Aily
Zirkle headed their way running
in the top 9

Ya never mentined anything about once you are at the top of the moutian pass - you have to chain up! I am glad to know that as some truckers motor down the interstate towing a 53 foot trailer loaded down with 30 tons of freight at 75 m.p.h., they are sitting there composing poetry in their mind or do you use a tape recorder or your lap top?

Must be "On The Road Again", site activity has once again slowed down. I will keep checking in the event you log in.

The leaders in the race are in Anvik. The top 10 all out Iditarod
and Shageluk. Mackey and King are
leading. King moved up to 2nd.
It's a race to the Yukon for that
prize.

Buser gave the pack the slip. He is
first out of Anvik.

I can see your daily mileage is lagging now that the Iditirod is taking place. Since you are an avid Iditirod watcher, she if you can get this Iditirodf Trivia Question: What was the name of the female musher that run the Iditirod with a team of French Poodles?

Thats easy-Sofia Carmen-Buser. Yoiks-now I am embellishing as bad
as you

Checked the standings. 4 leaders
all out of Grayling-Buser, Mackey,
King and Gebhardt. Mackey has the
most dogs 14, others have 13 or 12.
Buser breaking trail. You're right
my mileage is down-Buser may be getting more miles than I.

You must have got your lap top to working, you are doing a lot of key boarding! (that means typing) Have fun in Garland, Texas. I was there once, but it was closed for the night.

Your answer regarding the poosles rqacing to Nome is wrong! Give you anoitehr hint, following their sprint to Nome - guidelines wer placed on the racers as to the type of dogs they could use. Who mushed this famous dog team on the Iditirod?

shaktoolik by himself, the other
