For those contemplating the drive between Alaska and the other 48 states, I have provided an array of photo to let you see what you are in for. Steep grades, dropoffs, falling rock, tunnels, run a way truck ramps and hairpin turns. Drive safely.
I have a dash mounted GPS, window mounted /Doppler Radar and a Milepost - I can conquer anythingthe Alcan wants to throw my way - trip #14, I know it like the back of my hand.
Did you remember the spare tire and jack? Don't forget to exchange your currency....Exchange in US going into and in Canada coming out. Keith and I made 50 in the exchange due to people not knowing math.
The exchnge rate right nowis even with the Canadian a little stronger than the dollar. Makes it simple. Why do I need a jack and spare, my tires are only three years old! My skill level is so high, I should take steamboat at about 75.6 mph cause I got GPS a guidng me!
Steamboat was great, up at 75 mph and down the other side at 85 mph but I can see why it does test a trucker. Also right about the buffalo, forgot to tell me about the sheep, caribou, deer and elk!

Steam boat mountain lies ahead, 14 miles a hill....theres everything on the old steamboat to test a truckers skill....
I'll warn you about the sleeping buffs in the road when you get close to Liard River and leave YT and enter BC
Watch out for bears at Liard River hot springs-ps it is not a nude pool.
