Pope

The photo is of Sheriff Pope of Utah. He was one of the few lawmen to penetrate the outlaw enclave of Brown's Park. Few lawmen dared enter for fear of never living long enough to leave it. He was quite interesting if you want to google him.

Now as to me, where have Spike and Billy been?

We've just finished a run from Utah to Portland and now are making the run the other direction-back to Utah. We've been to Denver and back(dinner out on the town at Casa Bonita)

Had sort of a "ropeyarn Sunday" getting stuff done in Denver. Then it was back to Utah via I80 and Wyoming. Crete is pressuring me to obtain a Wyoming CDL. I countered by borrowing a Colorado address. I worked hard for that CDL and am not quite ready to exchange it for a Wyoming CDL.

Freight was slow in Salt Lake City when we left there for Portland. I spent the 24th which was a Utah holiday trying to find an open bank-70 miles to Evanston took care of that. Pioneer Day in SLC. Celebrating the Mormon handcart brigade finding the Salt Lake area. Hell , they would not have found their butts if Jim Bridger hadn't pointed them the way.
