Happy Fourth from Everett, WA. Finally unloaded last of my Dixie cups in Kent, drove up here to Everett in expectation of a load out of Kimberly Clark(huggies). Slow freight so will likely enjoy another day here on the marina. Toured the Naval Station yesterday as part of of the July 4 open house. Did not make it on board the Abe but she was there dressed out in all her splendor. Dress ship. Did get aboard a Vietnam PBR(featured recently on Discover channel). Dang they are small-no galley, no head. This trucker had a tough time scooting through the hatch. Very thin armor protected helm-very thin. Had a great time.

At least the PBR's were made of metal - the early PBR's (PT Boats) were made of plywood, those sailors could not even be protected from a .22 caliber. But that was in days of old when boats were made of wood and men of metal.

actually these pbr's were made of fiberglass. I asked the chief on the boat if Hollywood got it accurate and whether you could lift one with a helo. He said not a huey, maybe a green giant and yes they had to on occasion pick one out of a hot spot.
Glad your doing well and enjoyed your stay in Everett...Not my favorite town in that state...but not a bad one either...drive carefully...love ya.

Must be delivering Huggies....but...guess where I was yesterday.....Beaver Lane, Beaver Court, and Beaver drive.....nope not in Beaver...In Palmer.
