I am looking for some old road music. Specifically some music by "Jimmy Simpson and the
Oilfield Boys". He has such hits as the "ALASKA STATEHOOD SONG" "LONGEST RUN"
ALCAN RUN" "OILFIELD BLUES"" PIPELINER BLUES" "LAST FRONTIER WALTZ" and the
"ALASKA EARTHQUAKE " Good $ could be offered.

Oh yea, I have the entire album series of Jimmy Simpson, the title of the album is "Matanuska Gold", I think it went aluminum on the charts! My favorites being "I Peed In The Yukon", "Walking 4th Avenue" and "little Old Lady In Spenard". The album I have is on a platter, "78" speed so I doubt that it will load into your cd disc without some modificiation. However, to help you out on your long lonely nights on the road, I know these two "dinkers"that could probaly locate and download these big hits from the internet. I will do some research for an Expressed Shipped cup of Irish Creme Latte from the nearest Mocha Girl Espresso stand with pictures of the serving staff - forget the drink, just send the autographed pictures!
He goes for the mochas, dad, not the baristas...RIGHT JOHN!!!! But I will look around for you, Uncle Bill, no charge (might give me something to blog about)!!
Are you telling me that you have one of these "new" espresso stands in LA? Why are we keeping this a secret- that could be a potential buyer for my "Bra" collection! Share the information Plumma!
You didn't tell me I was looking for a vinyl record...I found Samples...and an original vinyl record for $174, but try playing that in your truck.
I missed the store name...are you saying OSHA lets baristas serve topless? Doesn't sound safe. I have got to look this up.
That is gross Heidi - they ar3e not topless! They are wearing bra's! The vinvly record your found is the 78 rpm platter that I have - I have enough of those that I could tile the floor! Maybe I should try e-bay, I may have some vacation money siutting in that cardboard box!
How Jimmy Simpson relates to the scantily clad
mokka girls I have no idea. They were not topless
they would benefit greatly from your fathers bra
collection. They have a few he might like to
acquire for his collection as well
Uncle Bill...the album you are looking for is not being made anymore. I spoke with a lady at the "Blue Moose" she said you can still "special order" this album. I have asked her to order a copy on CD. she said it would be about two weeks and the cost would be $17.99. At that price I had her send dad 20 copies COD. Kidding....but you can order "Alaskan Music" from the bluemoose.com good luck
I have not talked to the Ranger since he started the toilet paper run into Calfornia, but I am taking all side bets and giving odds, 10 to 1 that his next blog will come to us from Beaver, Utah!
And here I am in Beaver. Thnx for all the help in locating a lead to lost lost Jimmy Simpson
tunes.
I suppose a Mokka Dude shop would
not be successful
How about Mokka Stud
You made good time to Beaver, wish I wouldhave had some takers on my side bet. Since you made a speed run, i would guess yu are out of hours and forced to "layover" in Beaver, again! Someday your company is going to get wise to your antics and restrict you to the east coast. Don't think your all male revue latte shop concept will fly, especially in Beaver country! might work in San Francisco however.
Did you ever figure out how many packages of Top Ramen noodles to fill up a 53 foot trailer? If yuour aree going to drop your noodle load in Salt Lake, what kind of load can you pick up there - salt?
A friend of ours once (maybe 6 years ago?) had the idea of a topless mocha stand. The fresh, cold winter may have been good for business, but there are agencies that would, probably, not allow it.
Where are you at? You should have been into Beaver a long time ago - I figure that you should have been there by noon on Wednesday? Are you still parked inthe cherry orchard in Grand Junction?
Hy!
I'm Jörg from Germany and also searching for some music by Jimmy Simpson. Tried your hint and went to "bluemoose.com" - but there's nothing to find about Jimmy Simpson or Alaskan Music.
Got a tape called "Jimmy Simpson - The Oilfield Boy Sings "Alcan Run" And Other Alaska Songs" years ago from a friend who was in Alaska.
These songs are on the tape:
1. Sourdought Blues
2. Si-Wash-Gal
3. Last Frontier Waltz
4. North To The Last Frontier
5. Was It Him, Her Or Me?
6. The Longest Run
7. The Alcan Run
8. Pipeliner's Day
9. Alaska's Earthquake
10. Sourdough Shack
11. Oilfield Boy
12. Springtime In Alaska
So my question would be if you have some other songs by Jimmy and if you think we can trade some songs.
I'm able to send .MP3, Tape or CD-R.
Please give me an answer here and maybe an eMail addy so that I can get in touch with you. (you can delete it after you've got eMail from me - if I'd write down mine here I had no chance to take it away ...)
Thank you very much in advance;
Best wishes,
Jörg
P.S. - maybe you have a discography of Jimmy Simpson releases??
